INSTALLING APE ADJUSTABLE CAM SPROCKETS
SUZUKI SV650

READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE REMOVING STOCK SPROCKETS FROM THE CAMS

Start by taking each APE sprocket and adaptor and positioning the sprocket so that the bolts are in the center of the slots. Snug the bolts so that the sprocket will not move on the adaptor until you are instructed to remove it.

When installing the adaptor on the camshaft, clean both the cam boss and the adaptor i.d. with acetone, etc, and coat the adaptor bore with red loctite.

Hold the cam securely when pressing the adaptor on. It is very easy to damage both the cam and adaptor.

After cams are degreed in, lock bolts to 14 ft. lbs. of torque. OVER TIGHTENING CAN DAMAGE ADAPTER OR BOLTS. Cam degreeing supplies are available from APE.

Front Exhaust

The cam has a line that points to the "1F arrow" Highlight that line and remove the stock sprocket. Hold the APE sprocket and adapter assembly up to the cam so that the single dot on the APE sprocket lines up with the highlighted line. Make a mark on the adaptor in line with the highlighted line. Remove the APE sprocket from the adaptor. Install the adaptor do that the mark you made on it lines up with the highlighted line on the cam.

Front Intake

Scribe a line on the cam that lines up with the number 3 arrow on the stock sprocket. Remove the stock sprocket from the cam. Hold the APE sprocket and adaptor up to the cam so that the line that you scribed lines up with the 3 dots on the APE sprocket. Make a mark on the adaptor in line with your scribed line on the cam. Remove the APE sprocket and install the adaptor so that the mark you made lines up with the scribed line you made on the cam.

Rear Intake

There is a line on the cam that lines up with the "1R arrow" on the stock sprocket . Highlight that line and remove the stock sprocket. Hold the APE adaptor and sprocket assembly up to the cam so that the highlighted line lines up with the single dot on the APE sprocket. Mark the adaptor in line with the highlighted line on the cam. Remove the APE sprocket and install the adaptor so that the mark you made lines up with the highlighted line on the cam.

Rear Exhaust

Scribe a line on the cam that lines up with the number 3 arrow on the stock sprocket. Remove the stock sprocket from the cam. Hold the APE sprocket and adaptor up to the cam so that the line that you scribed lines up with the 3 dots on the APE sprocket. Make a mark on the adaptor in line with your scribed line on the cam.
