 APE DUAL GUAGE LEAKDOWN TESTER

The APE leakdown tester is a precision instrument that will provide you with accurate readings to determine cylinder and cylinder head condition. A leaking engine can cost up to two twnths in E.T. This leakage can only be determined by using a quality leakdown tester.
The leakdown tester works by introducing compressed air into the cylinder through the spark-plug hole, then measuring the pwercentage of that air which leaks out. Excessive leakage can cause severe power loss. With air leakage over 10% it is easy to tell where the engine is leaking. If by an intake valve, you will hear air coming out of the carburetor, exhaust valve, out of the pipe etc.

The APE Tester is designed to accept a spark-plug adapter hose, sold searately. Be sure to know the spark-plug thread size of the engine to be tested and order the appropriate hose assembly.

In order to find out what size hose assembly will fit your bike's spark plug thread, follow this link to NGK's Spark Plug Part Finder page and find out what NGK part number your bike requires.

Once you have noted the NGK part number for your bike's spark plug check it against the chart below to find out what millimeter size hose will work with your leakdown tester.

 Stud Remover


This stud removing tool is used with a 1/2" drive ratchet and extension to grip the stud near the case. Just slip it over the stud and turn the ratchet. Tool locks on stud and turns it out.

The small tool on the right is sold seperately. It screws on the nut end of the stud, the set screw is tightened down on the end of the stud and the stud can be installed using a socket and ratchet. Does not damage studs. Perfect for installing APE heavy-duty studs.

 Mini Spring Testers

The APE Mini valve spring testers are available in two ranges: 0-300 lbs for checking valve spring and seat pressures, and 0-100 lbs for checking valve spring seat pressures as well as clutch springs. They provide an economical solution to accurately check valve spring pressure when assembling cylinder heads. The APE tester can be used in a vise, arbor press or drill press.

APE VALVE STEM HEIGHT GAUGE

APE precision valve stem height gauge for Kawasakis 650 thru 1100 2 valve motors allows you to set the valve stem height so that it will fall into the middle of the shim range. A must when doing valve jobs, installing big valves, or working with cams that have reduced base circles.

APE offers precision valve guide hones for fitting valves in tight valve guides. No more hand reaming tight guides. After installing APE or other eftermarket bronze guides, you may find a tight one. No problem..just a few strokes through the guide with the hone in a drill motor and the valve slips right in. Not recommended for new stock OEM steel guides.

RACING TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE

APE tire pressure gauge are true racing quality instruments. Racers know that tire pressure can, at times, be the difference between winning and losing. Accurate tire pressure cannot be checked without an accurate gauge.

APE tire gauges come in two types: 0-15 psi for drag racing and 0-60 psi for road racing and high-performance street riding.

KAWASAKIGPZ CAM CHAIN ADAPTER DRILL JIG

This drill jig is used for drilling the mounting bolt holes in Kawasaki J model and GPZ1100 cylinder heads, to install the cam chain idler adapter necessary for useon early style lower end. (For an explanation of the two styles of KZ motors, click here.) The jig has hardened steel drill bushings and a 12" long drill for use in a drill motor. Simply bolt on to the head and drill through the bushings.
